OUR CURRICULUM

During the 2019-20 church year, we will be have multiple classrooms meeting each week.

Our "Blue room" (pre-K to 3rd grade) will use two different curricula from the Unitarian Universalist's Tapestry of Faith series. The first half of the year will be Love Surrounds Us, which "explores all the Principles in the context of Beloved Community of family/home, school, neighborhood." The second part of the year will come from Moral Tales, "attempts to provide children with the spiritual and ethical tools they will need to make choices and take actions reflective of their Unitarian Universalist beliefs and values."

The "Rose room" (4th - 6th graders) will be working with the Our Whole Lives (OWL) lifespan sexuality curriculum for the first ten weeks of the church year. After they complete that program, they will work with the Tapestry of Faith series titled Amazing Grace, which continues to focus on decision making and exploring right and wrong.

Finally, the "Yellow room" (7th - 12th graders), will be using the television show "The Simpsons" and curriculum titled "D'oh, God!" to discuss a variety of religious and social justice related topics over the course of the year.

OUR CHURCH

We are a vibrant and diverse community that supports, inspires, and sustains each other on our spiritual journeys. We are united not by shared beliefs or creeds but by a vision to learn, serve, celebrate, and grow together. We invite you to share your journey with us.

As Unitarian Universalists, we challenge ourselves to be:

  • OPEN, loving, and inclusive;

  • INSPIRED by many sources of wisdom;

  • COMMITTED agents of compassion, service, justice and joy;

  • SEEKERS at all ages engaged in questioning and learning.
